SW Florida Business and Employment Environment

Business isn’t what it used to be, but nothing is what it used to be nowadays.  A few years ago, business activity was booming and there were jobs in most sectors due to the huge demand placed by the unprecedented growth in population.  People were moving to Florida to live, not just to vacation in the sun.  Florida was no longer a haven for only wealthy retirees.  Young people were moving to Florida to live and find jobs and to raise families.

Today’s Florida

Florida has always been about reinventing one’s self.  It even reinvents itself every few decades or so.  It’s no longer a frontier as it may have been before World War II,  but it might be your new frontier.

Look beneath the current difficult economy and find the opportunities it offers.  They are always there.  The Great Depression destroyed many fortunes but it also produced many millionaires (when a million bucks was big money).  IBM came out of the depression, along with other companies, and structural changes like installment credit  and Social Security were put in place.  Right now, our housing market offers opportunities I doubt we’ll see again in our lifetimes.  There are others.  It’s up to you to find them.
