Lizards on the Lanai

My position (on lizards) is that anything that eats ants is OK and my lanai lizards do.

Vast colonies of assorted ant species actually own the house in which I live. The bank only thinks it has a valid lien. It is only a matter of time before the ants realize that they are property owners. God knows where it might lead.

Ants would grow and prosper were it not for lizards. Eventually they would affiliate with political parties, red ones democrat, black ones republican, or whatever…. Next thing you know, they would gain power and run school boards requiring a high sugar diet for your children.

Naked ambition would then cause them to run for national office to displace the incumbent insects, much as they do in your yard…. They have a better than even chance of pulling it off since they are better organized than your garden-variety congressional insect. More attuned to the common good for the hive, too.

I can only hope my lanai lizards are holding the line.
